Earlier this month, Krill released A Distant Fist Unclenching, an excellent record which seemed to draw inspiration from oddball rockers like Titus Andronicus and Ought. This week, the Boston trio channel another eccentric personality in Adam Sandler, delivering a great cover of the “Billy Madison Victory Song”.
Sandler and his buds sang the song at the end of the Billy Madison film, and Krill manage to capture the essence of that performance — reveling with equal parts jubilant silliness and triumphant fanfare. Listen in below.
Krill’s “Billy Madison Victory Song” cover is taken from Father/Daughter Records’ forthcoming Faux Real II, a nostalgia-filled compilation that sees artists tackle tracks from TV shows/movies such as The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Doug, and Almost Famous. It’s due out on April 28th.
